Zenith

Zenith and Element are both single-column and both ATS-reliable, but they are aimed at different readers. Element uses serif type and reads traditional and academic. Zenith is a contemporary minimal sans-serif treatment — it reads current and senior rather than conventional and scholarly.

The design argument for minimalism gets stronger as you get more senior. A junior resume often benefits from visual structure because the content is thin and needs help holding a page. A senior resume has the opposite problem: fifteen years of substantive work competing for attention, where any decoration is noise between the reader and the evidence. Zenith strips the document back so that scope, scale, and outcomes are the only things doing work.

The vertical contact strip is a small but genuine efficiency. Traditional headers spread name, email, phone, location, and links across two or three horizontal lines, consuming vertical space at the very top of page one — the most valuable real estate in the document. Stacking contact details vertically recovers that space for your summary or first role, which is what the reader actually came for.

For executive search specifically, single-column is worth choosing deliberately. Search firms frequently pipe candidate documents through their own parsing systems, which are often older than the ATS a direct employer would use. A single-column layout removes the risk of your two-column sidebar being interleaved into your job history.

Zenith has no photo support and no sidebar background. That is not a gap — those options would undercut the point of the template.
