KaizenCV vs Teal

Teal’s centre of gravity is the job tracker. With the Chrome extension you click the Teal icon on a supported job board and the role is saved to your tracker with salary details, keywords and a breakdown of the job description; for unsupported sites you paste the description in manually. From there you can rate your excitement, add contacts and notes, follow checklists and use email templates for each stage. When you tailor a resume, you attach the position and Teal highlights its keywords in the builder.

KaizenCV’s centre of gravity is the document. You open a resume or cover letter and the ATS score updates while you edit; on Pro you can also score it against a pasted job posting. The AI career coach reads the resume, cover letter or job posting you attach and proposes edits as changes you apply or skip, and each applied change can be undone. The application tracker covers where you applied, what stage each application is at and what you promised to follow up on, but there is no browser extension, so jobs are added inside the app. If saving and organising roles is where your time goes, Teal is built around that; if rewriting is, KaizenCV is.

On Teal’s free plan, AI tools draw on per-tool credits: its Teal vs. Teal+ article lists 2 credits each for professional summaries and cover letters, plus a small allowance for resume bullets and 2 AI interview practice sessions. Teal+ makes all of them unlimited. Teal’s pricing page also notes that generators give you several responses to choose from, or you can adjust the prompt and generate again.

KaizenCV uses one shared monthly AI allowance instead of per-tool limits. Coach messages, builder rewrites, AI fixes and generated documents such as a tailored resume or cover letter draw on it, while uploading, editing, changing the layout and searching jobs cost nothing. The free allowance is small, enough to try it on one real application; Pro raises it to enough to tailor a resume and cover letter for up to 125 jobs a month. That is a real difference in approach: if you generate a lot of AI copy, Teal+ is unlimited, while KaizenCV Pro has a monthly ceiling that resets each month.

Teal+ is sold in USD as $13 every 7 days, $29 every 30 days or $79 every 90 days, and no credit card is required to start on the free plan. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Because the weekly option renews every 7 days, four weeks on it costs $52, so it suits a short, intense search, while the 90-day plan works out cheapest per day on Teal’s own figures.

KaizenCV Pro is $24.95 a month, $49.95 a quarter or $119.95 a year in US dollars, with prices in Danish kroner and euros where you are billed in those currencies, all excluding VAT. There is no weekly plan. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and your documents remain in your account on the free plan.
